Best Games, Apk and Mod Apks
A mobile game is a game played on a feature phone, smartphone/tablet, smartwatch, PDA, portable media player or graphing calculator. The earliest known game on a mobile phone was a Tetris variant on the Hagenuk MT-2000 device from 1994.
In 1997, Nokia launched the very successful Snake. Snake (and its variants), that was preinstalled in most mobile devices manufactured by Nokia, has since become one of the most played games and is found on more than 350 million devices worldwide. A variant of the Snake game for the Nokia 6110, using the infrared port, was also the first two-player game for mobile phones.
Today, mobile games are usually downloaded from an app store as well as from mobile operator's portals, but in some cases are also preloaded in the handheld devices by the OEM or by the mobile operator when purchased, via infrared connection, Bluetooth, or memory card, or side loaded onto the handset with a cable.
Downloadable mobile games were first commercialised in Japan circa the launch of NTT DoCoMo's I-mode platform in 1999, and by the early 2000s were available through a variety of platforms throughout Asia, Europe, North America and ultimately most territories where modern carrier networks and handsets were available by the mid-2000s. However, mobile games distributed by mobile operators and third party portals (channels initially developed to monetise downloadable ringtones, wallpapers and other small pieces of content using premium SMS or direct carrier charges as a billing mechanism) remained a marginal form of gaming until Apple's iOS App Store was launched in 2008. As the first mobile content marketplace operated directly by a mobile platform holder, the App Store significantly changed the consumer behaviour and quickly broadened the market for mobile games, as almost every smartphone owner started to download mobile apps.
You may have seen many Android app websites which are offering modded apks for your Android devices and some new Android users out there don’t know how to install them on their Android device. Well, it’s pretty simple for the Android addicts like us but for new users it’s not that easy. I have made a tutorial for all those new users who don’t know how to install modded apks on their devices.
What Is an APK?
An APK (Android Package Kit) is a type of file that installs an application for Android. If you are technically savvy, it's like a file you run to install programs on Windows or Mac (known as an executable (EXE) for Windows, or a package installer (PKG) for Mac).
In this case, the APK file is simply the installer file you click to install applications on your Android device.
Here's a simplified explanation of what an APK is, but it helps to understand why clicking on the file on your Android device will install an application.
Why Use an APK?
If you've ever installed an Android application from the Google Play store, then you've actually already used an APK file without realizing it. When you click that green Install button, Google Play automates the process of transferring the APK file to your phone and running it for you.
How to Install Modded APKs on your Android device:
- Let’s say for a moment that you are installing the modded apk of Subway Surfers (The new version is already out) and for installing it. You need to uninstall the market version of the game ( You will loose your data unless your phone is rooted and you have a backup).
- Download the Modded or Cracked APK and place it on your device.
- Go to ‘Settings > Security and check Unknown Sources (Allow installation of apps other than Play Store).
- Use any free file manager to navigate to the location of the saved APK.
- Tap on the downloaded APK file and complete the installation process.
- Launch the game and now you can run any modded apk on your device.
Installing an APK file on Android, it's as simple as clicking on the file from your phone. There are, however, a few things to consider before you can do this successfully.
First, you'll need to prepare your phone's settings. Second, get the file onto your Android. And, finally, find the file to open it.
But what if the app you want to install isn't available on Google Play? That's when you'll have to take matters into your own hands.
In this article, you'll learn three methods to run an APK installer file to install any non-Google Play app to your phone.
Install an Android File Manager
Now that you've configured your phone to let you install unknown apps, you'll also need a way to find that application file (APK file) on your phone so you can run it.
Intermediate: Transfer the APK Installer via USB
If you don't have Internet access on your phone, or for any other reason you can't use your browser to download the file, you can still install apps from your computer.
Using your computer web browser, download the APK file just like described above. Once it's downloaded, you'll need to connect to your Android phone and transfer the file.
If you've never connected your Android to your computer, you'll need to enable USB Debugging.
Depending how old your device is, there are two ways to do this.
- Android 4.1.x and lower: Click Settings, then tap Applications, tap Development and finally enable USB debugging.
- Android 4.2.x and higher: Click Settings, scroll down to About phone, and tap Build number seven times. This enables the Developer menu.
- Go back to Settings, tap Developer Options and tap USB Debugging. Enable the USB Debugging checkbox.
